Who is Lady Deadpool? Fans have theories

There’s a surprising new face in the latest Deadpool film – and no, it’s not Hugh Jackman resurrecting his role as Wolverine.

In the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, which is set to be released in the UK on July 25, fans have received a new glimpse of Lady Deadpool – and they are convinced they know who is playing the character.

In the trailer released earlier this week, the camera pans up from Lady Deadpool’s legs, up her torso and to her neck, but stops before it reaches her face. However, we do get a glimpse of her blonde, slightly wavy, hair.

Who is Lady Deadpool?

Some fans have taken to Twitter to speculate who she could be, with people convinced it is one of two people: Blake Lively or Taylor Swift.

Blake Lively, of course, is an actor and is married to Ryan Reynolds who plays the titular character, so casting her as Lady Deadpool wouldn’t be a far reach.

Swift, on the other hand, is best friends with Lively – and Lively, Jackman, and Reynolds were all seen accompanying Swift to one of her boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s football games last year. Could this have been a hint of Swift’s involvement in the film? (We highly doubt it because, let’s be honest, when would she have had the time?!).

However, Reynolds did address the Swift rumours earlier this year, stating: “Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”

“Everyone debating on whether Lady Deadpool is played by Blake Lively or Taylor Swift but it would be way funnier if it’s just also Ryan,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
