‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Will Swing Into Theaters Next July

While it has long been known that Tom Holland’s Marvel journey would continue with a fourth installment in the Spider-Man franchise, Sony has confirmed that Peter Parker will be swinging back into action next year for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, the latest Spider-Man film will be directed by Daniel Destin Cretton, who took the stage at CinemaCon last night to unveil the film.

Principal photography on Brand New Day is set to start this summer. During the current pre-production phase, however, Cretton teased, “daily, we’re nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an emotional story and a ride we haven’t seen before.”

Holland Calls the Film “A Fresh Start”

Although Holland could not attend the Las Vegas convention, he did appear via video from “across the world,” where he previewed his next Spider-Man adventure.

According to Holland, Brand New Day will be “a fresh start” for Peter Parker after the reality-altering events of Spider-Man: Now Way Home.

“I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie. And I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of ‘No Way Home’. So ‘Spider Man: Brand New Day’ is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say,” Holland teased.

What About ‘Doomsday’?

The big question surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day is how the film will relate to Avengers: Doomsday. We now have confirmation that Spider-Man 4 will be released after the fifth Avengers film, meaning Spidey’s next adventure should be set between the events of Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Therefore, Avengers: Doomsday’s multiversal implications could massively impact Brand New Day’s story.

Interestingly, Holland was among the many notable names not announced as part of Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal.

While it remains to be seen how Brand New Day fits into the larger narrative of the MCU, fans can breathe a sigh of relief for now.
