Jamie Lee Curtis Apologizes For Her Marvel Comments

Jamie Lee Curtis grabbed headlines when she told MTV that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was in its “bad” phase.

The comments were made at last weekend’s Comic-Con, where Curtis was playing a rapid-fire question game to promote her upcoming film Borderlands.

While the actresses’ comments were mild and made during a game, Marvel fans quickly took offense.

It was also not the first time that Curtis had previously made comments critical of the MCU. In 2022, the actress took shots at Marvel when comparing her Everything Everywhere All at Once to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

“Marvel movies just feel very sort of dead to me. And this is a movie that actually makes you feel tremendous heart,” she said.

Curtis Quickly Apologized

In a social media post on X yesterday, Curtis apologized for her comments and also slammed MTV.

“My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better. I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content or conversation.”

As previously mentioned, Curtis’ comments were mild and certainly nothing that should have raised a ruckus. Still, the actress did choose to respond with “bad” when asked a fairly generic question about the MCU.

In the end, the whole thing feels like a non-story.
