Disney Genesis Topps Cards Debuted This Morning and Instantly Sold Out
The partnership between Topps and Disney bore its first fruits today with the release of Disney Genesis, a new collection of trading cards featuring characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.
Available on Topps.com, the new trading card set was specifically designed to produce scarcity. Each card in the set is numbered 99 or fewer. Among the characters previewed by Topps ahead of the Genesis release were Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Darth Vader, and Spider-Man.

100 Cards Have Been Released in Total
Packs of Disney Genesis cards were priced at $100 by Topps, with a 10-box case selling for $999.99. The cards sold out in minutes.

The first Disney Genesis release is comprised of 100 different cards. The collection includes 20 Star Wars cards, 20 Disney Animation cards, 20 Pixar Cards, and 40 Pixar cards, 20 of which feature MCU characters.

Disney Continues to Expand Its Trading Card Footprint
While certain Disney properties, including Star Wars and Marvel, have always been popular in the trading card sphere, the company has recently leaned further into the industry.
Between the launch of Disney Lorcana and its new partnership with Topps, the company has expanded its imprint in the trading card space.
