Chris Pratt Celebrates 10 Years of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’
As hard as it is to believe, it has been 10 years since Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy debuted in theaters.
On August 1, 2014, much of the world was introduced to the obscure Marvel Comics team when Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord danced his way onto the screen for the first time. While die-hard Marvel fans had heard of the Guardians, the team was not the same kind of household name that Iron Man, Captain America, or Thor were.

Still, despite coming from relative obscurity, Guardians of the Galaxy was a massive hit for Marvel Studios, grossing $773.3 million and spawning two successful sequels. The first Guardians of the Galaxy film also launched Chris Pratt into superstardom.
Chris Pratt Commemorates the Occasion
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of his entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Pratt took to social media to thank the film’s cast, crew, and fans for “changing my life.”
“Today marks 10 YEARS since Guardians of the Galaxy hit the big screen. Can you believe it? What a journey it’s been. I love this cast, the crew and everyone involved. So grateful to the fans! You have changed my life. And to James Gunn who took a chance on the sweaty goofball from Parks and Rec, thanks dude.”

Following his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt would become one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood. In addition to his Marvel work, he has starred in three Jurassic World films, action blockbusters like Zero Dark Thirty, and voiced Mario in the massive Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Will Pratt Return to the MCU?
While the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise seemingly came to an end following Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3., Pratt has made it clear that he would be happy to return to the MCU.
