Disney Quickly Deletes Marvel Sizzle Reel That Previewed ‘Ironheart,’ ‘Thunderbolts*,’ ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ and ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

Earlier today, we reported on a new sizzle reel released by Disney to celebrate Marvel’s 85th anniversary.

The brief clip started with the Marvel forefathers Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby before transitioning to the modern Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The highlight of the clip, however, was the first look at a slew of upcoming projects, including Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, Captain America: Brave New World, and Thunderbolts*.

All in all, it was a fitting tribute to Marvel and the lasting impact the company has had on popular culture. Unfortunately, however, there was one problem—Disney didn’t mean to post the sizzle reel yet.

Disney Quickly Deleted the Video

Soon after the reel was posted across Disney and Marvel social media, it was quickly deleted. It appears that someone erred in posting it in the first place.

However, seeing as this is the internet, the cat is out of the bag. Numerous accounts have since shared and copied the video. At this point, it is strange that Disney has not reposted it.

Marvel Continues to Hold Back Trailers and Preview Footage

Today’s mix-up continues a pattern of strange decisions surrounding footage from Marvel’s upcoming projects.

Clips of Thunderbolts*, Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Thunderbolt Ross’s transformation into Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World were shown at San Diego Comic-Con and D23: The Ultimate Fan Event.

Despite this footage looking online, Marvel has yet to formally release any of the new clips.

By letting the information leak out, rather than getting ahead of bootleg recordings, Marvel risks losing the social media buzz that has typically accompanied trailer releases.

Hopefully, we will get more official trailers from Marvel soon.
